Oscar’s Grind Gambling System

RiskThe extraordinary growth of internet gambling worldwide has been enabled by three things: firstly, the widespread availability of high-speed internet connections; secondly, the increasing market penetration (and lower cost) of devices with high-quality touch screens; and thirdly, the liberal attitude to regulation adopted by certain countries, particularly Britain. The first makes online gambling possible, the second attractive, and the third legal.

 Systems

As a result, online gambling is now a “normal” activity in many territories, with much of the stigma associated with betting removed. Naturally, people who have come to enjoy games like roulette, blackjack, poker and baccarat online are attracted to sites offering gambling systems – ways to increase winnings and minimise losses, if not eliminate them entirely. There are hundreds of such systems online; among them there is the oscar’s grind example, and here we’ll have a look at whether it can work.

Testing

One of the problems with gambling systems is that some companies and individuals attempt to charge large amounts of money to reveal their “secrets”. Casino recommendation and strategy site Fortune Palace explains Oscar’s Grind and gives the results of some extensive testing without charging players. For the purposes of illustration, we’ll use £1 (GBP) as the betting unit; it could be £1000 or $50 US, of course, depending on your location and bank balance!

Oscar’s Grind

Oscar’s Grind is supposedly a system that’s ideal for roulette, though it can be applied to other games. The basic idea is to bet £1 on a spin of the wheel; a win indicates that the player should return to step 1, as the rule is to win £1 and no more on each play. If the player loses, bet £1 on the next spin. However, on a winning streak, the player increases the bet by £1 unless that would result in a profit of over £1 for that play.

It’s clearly not a system for the incautious player; hot-headed types can lose money quickly by not sticking to the rules. The idea is to generate a small but consistent profit over a large number of spins; it can be thought of as a long-term investment. But does it work?

Test Results

Fortune Palace’s test results show that, while the system gives a slow steady profit with a reasonable run of luck at the roulette wheel, it does minimise large losses if results are not so good – as you might expect. One problem with it is that it doesn’t offer a way of quickly winning back those losses. As always with gambling, the message seems to be – set a limit on what you can afford to lose, assume you are going to lose it, and enjoy yourself!
